Woman who discovered talent for fine arts in confinement presents works at exhibition

Cláudia Barbosa, a 44-year-old woman who discovered talent for fine arts in times of confinement, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, has from today the exhibition “Two scenarios”, in Rua d’Arte -Terra Branca, in Praia.

Speaking to Inforpress, Cláudia Barbosa revealed that she began almost two years ago in the art world, at the time a state of emergency was declared in Cabo Verde due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It started with the decoration of potted plants and the productions functioned as “a therapy”, she said.

“My husband is a visual artist, he and our children went down every day to the gallery to paint and I was taking care of the house, so one day I decided to go down to paint, then I never stopped,” she said.

This is the third exhibition by Cláudia Barbosa who, only in this pandemic period, has already exhibited her arts twice at closed doors, due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, both entitled “The good side of confinement”.
