WAEC receives GHS50million from GES to support WASSCE and BECE

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced the allocation of fifty million Ghana Cedis (GHS50million) to the West African Examination Council (WAEC) to help manage the affairs of the conduct of the Basic Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). According to a statement released by GES, on August 29, 2024, the funds confirms government's dedication to fulfilling its financial responsibilities to WAEC, to ensure an uninterrupted operation of the council. GES assured stakeholders, especially students, parents, guardians, and the general public of its commitment to maintaining an environment that promotes smooth continuous, efficient, and high-quality education for all Ghanaian Students 'The Ministry of Education is pleased to announce the release of Fifty million (GHS50million) to the West African Examination Council (WAEC) to support the conduct of the Basic Certificate Examination (BECE) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). "The disbursement reaffirms the Government's commitment to fulfilling its financial obligations to WAEC, ensuring that the council's operations continue without interruption," the statement noted.
