United Nations in retreat in the City of Praia for analysis of the New United Nations Cooperation Framework with Cabo Verde

The United Nations System in Cabo Verde meets today and tomorrow at its annual retreat to launch the process for the New United Nations Cooperation Framework with the country for the five-year 2023-2027.

The meeting, which begins on Monday, from 8:45AM, in one of the hotels in Praia, intends to define its strategic objectives and strengthen its joint and coordinated action, in the framework of the United Nations reform, for sustainable development in Cabo Verde, according to a note sent to Inforpress.

The meeting will be co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Business Development and Minister of Digital Economy, Olavo Correia, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Miryan Vieira and the resident coordinator of the United Nations System in Cabo Verde, Ana Graça.

According to the same source, the meeting is of “great importance”, as it will lay the foundations and process for the New Cooperation Framework between the United Nations System and the Government of Cabo Verde, which is due to be signed in September this year.

It will have “a wide participation” of Africa regional directors and the different UN System offices, including new entities that have already expressed interest in being part of the next Cooperation Framework.
