Ouagadougou: The Minister of Sports, Youth and Employment, Roland Somda, visited the royal palace to receive blessings from His Majesty Moogho-Naaba Baongo in anticipation of the 36th International Cycling Tour of Faso, which is set to commence next Friday. The visit was part of a courtesy call to discuss the preparations for the event, as reported by the department in charge of sports.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit took place on October 22, 2025, just days before the cycling race begins. Minister Somda aimed to assess the readiness for the Tour du Faso and seek the blessings of His Majesty for a successful event that would bring joy to the people of Burkina Faso. During the visit, Minister Somda expressed appreciation for the continued support and contributions of His Majesty to Burkinabe sports.
The upcoming edition will feature 12 teams from nine countries, including Belgium, Benin, Burkina Faso (with three teams), Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Ghana, Mali, Morocco, Niger, and Togo. His Majesty Moogho Naaba Baongo expressed gratitude to Minister Somda for the initiative and extended his blessings and guidance to ensure a successful 2025 edition of the Tour du Faso.
The 2025 Tour du Faso is scheduled to run from October 24 to November 2.
