The 51st Class of Gendarmerie Cadets Graduates with Honors in Bobo-Dioulasso


Bobo-dioulasso: The graduation ceremony for the 51st class of gendarmerie non-commissioned officer cadets took place this Friday, September 12, 2025, in Bobo-Dioulasso. The class, consisting of 502 members, including 16 women, was named “Nagou-Zanga,” which translates to “protect all without exception,” and achieved an impressive overall average of 16.12 out of 20.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the cadets entered the National Gendarmerie Non-Commissioned Officers School on October 18, 2023. The name “Nagou-Zanga,” borrowed from the Moore language, reflects the class’s commitment to defending the territorial integrity and security of the population without distinction.



In his speech, class representative Jules Minougou expressed pride in the progress made by his classmates. He emphasized the hard work and sacrifices that led to their success, highlighting the importance of perseverance and collective effort. Minougou noted that the training activities, including bivouacs, long marches, deprivation, and maneuvers, strengthened their physical endurance and morale while teaching them essential military values such as cohesion, discipline, team spirit, and solidarity. He also mentioned the practical training in brigades, first aid, firefighting, and operational preparation, which provided them with valuable professional experience.



The ceremony was presided over by the Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Brigadier General Celestin Simpore. He commended the supervisors’ efforts and congratulated the new non-commissioned officers. General Simpore emphasized the importance of commitment, sacrifice, and loyalty to the government, urging the new officers to uphold the discipline and professionalism characteristic of the gendarmerie.



The “Nagou-Zanga” class, with its symbolic name, represents a total commitment to securing the territory and protecting the population. The cadets are prepared to contribute to the security of the Burkinabe people and to uphold the image of the National Gendarmerie as an elite force.
