Sincop wants ARME intervention to regulate the price of travel fares

The president of the National Union of Professional Drivers (Sincop), Domingos Tavares, expressed concern because ARME did not intervene to regulate the price of travel fares.

Domingos Tavares, who spoke to the press on Thursday, on the sidelines of the meeting with the Minister of Family, Inclusion and Social Development, Fernando Elísio Freire, explained that, in a joint decision with drivers and owners of Hiace, they decided to increase the travel fares, even without the approval of the Multisectoral Regulatory Agency of Economics (ARME).

According to him, this increase is because the last update was made in 2007, also taking into account the increase in fuel, the maintenance of vehicles and insurance.

“That is, everything is going up and drivers have a fair claim to increase wages, but the owner is unable to make this salary update,” he said.
