Mindelo, Dec 28 (Inforpress) – The Syndicate of General Industry, Food, Civil Construction and Services (Siacsa) suspended the firefighters’ strike scheduled for Thursday, the 29th, after agreeing with the City Hall of São Vicente to resolve pending issues from January 2023.
This information was provided to Inforpress by the representative of Siacsa in São Vicente, Heidi Ganeto, who explained that, as agreed with the mayor of São Vicente, Augusto Neves, from the beginning of the next January, firefighters start to enjoy their days off, and will resolve promotions and hire more staff for this corporation throughout 2023.
These, she explained, are the three “most pressing” points in the firefighters’ grievances.
“The first concerns the days off, the firefighters work without days off, so it was agreed that in January 2023 the firefighters will start receiving the days off. We also have the situation of promotions and hiring more staff and the City Hall agreed to resolve these issues during the year 2023”, listed the same source.
