São Vicente Minister of the Sea satisfied with European Investment Bank funding possibilities for blue economy projects

The Minister of the Sea was pleased on Thursday with the willingness to finance projects in the blue economy area demonstrated by the European Investment Bank (EIB), which is on a technical mission in São Vicente.

 

Abraão Vicente, who held a meeting with the EIB Head of West and Central Africa Unit, Svetla Stoeva, with the Director of Loans, Laura Richardson, and EIB energy sector specialist Oliver Tricca, said there is a desire to finance, but it is up to the country to consolidate the projects within the sector so that it can be funded.

 

“On the part of what may be sovereign debt, we present the restructuring or reinvestment in Cabnave, transforming it into a company not only capable of running into the national industry, but as an international reference company for ship repair, for the construction of all that are technologies focused on renewable energies, wave energy, solar and wind energy”, announced the Minister, for whom there are “several opportunities”, but these projects must be “implemented”.

 

According to the Minister, during the meeting, he presented the mission with a drone vision of the various opportunities and sent a very clear message that Cabo Verde wants to position itself as a strategic point within what is the sub-region.
