São Vicente: José Augusto Pinto School represents Cabo Verde in the African School championship

José Augusto Pinto High School represents Cabo Verde in women and men in the African School championship and intends to defend national colors with ‘fair-play’, as assured by physical education teacher, Américo Medina.

 

The high school was the winner of the qualifying round held, in Mindelo, by the African Football Confederation (CAF) in partnership with the Cabo Verdean Football Federation (FCF) and whose games, started on Tuesday, the 27th, ended this morning, involving about 200 children from the U-15 level, from four schools in São Vicente.

 

The “José Augusto Pinto” won in the final the Liceu Ludgero Lima, in men’s, and in the women’s won the Salesian School of Mindelo and will now represent the island and Cabo Verde in the African championship of Zone II, which should take place in November in Mali and, if they win, they will be able to participate in a tournament at continental level.

 

A participation, which, according to teacher Américo Medina, also known as Miky, will be made with ‘fair-play’, taking into account that it will be the first time after this pilot tournament.
