São Vicente: Doctors and pharmacists receive training on “management and store of medicines and health products”

Doctors and pharmacy technicians, from São Vicente and Santo Antão, receive, from this Thursday, a training on “supply management and store of medicines and health products”, at the São Vicente Health Centre.

According to a note from the Ministry of Health, the training is aimed at 18 physicians, who are focal points and work with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and 17 pharmacists and pharmacy technicians from the health structures at the two islands.

In addition to supply management, it intends to train professionals on the protocol for antiretroviral treatment, pharmacovigilance of antiretroviral drugs and drugs for Multidrug-resistant Tuberculosis.

According to the same source the objective is “to strengthen the responsiveness in supply management and distribution plans for health centers, strengthen the supply system and store of medicines and health products, improve the process for gathering information on the adverse effects of medicines and their timely communication to the Service for Disease Control and Prevention”.
