Santo Antão: Mayor of Porto Novo says that higher education it is “a dream come true” to “all Santo Antao people residents”

The Mayor of Porto Novo said Wednesday that higher education in Santo Antão starting from October with the Institute of Sciences and Agrarian Technologies, is ” a dream come true to all Santo Antao people residents”.

 

“The dream of higher education on the island is coming true to all Santo Antao people residents. The Institute of Agrarian Sciences and Technologies came to Santo Antão to stay”, said Aníbal Fonseca, regarding the visit of a delegation from the Technical University of the Atlantic (UTA) to Santo Antão, headed by its rector, in the context of the dissemination of the institute courses.

 

According to this Mayor, the Institute of Agrarian Sciences and Technologies, which is an part of UTA, will “provide high quality higher education courses in unique areas in Cabo Verde (Agronomy, Animal Science, Environment and the like)”, urging young people to enroll in the courses, which have “good career prospects and guarantees of employability”.

 

For the Mayor of Porto Novo, the incentives proposed by UTA to students, coming from anywhere in the country, are “quite attractive”, that is, scholarships for the first 40 enrolled, which include tuition, transportation and accommodation.
