Santiago: Santa Catarina Municipal Assembly discusses budget of more than 797 million escudos for 2023

The Municipal Assembly (AM) of Santa Catarina, in the interior of Santiago, meets on November 3 and 4, in an ordinary session, to discuss the proposed budget and activity plan of the municipality for 2023.

According to a note from Santa Catarina City hall, the discussion does not resume only to the approval of this management instrument. In addition, the agenda also includes a general and specific analysis, halfway, municipal activities for the year 2022; the transformation of the current account into income from 2023; a proposal for a shift subsidy to municipal inspectors; and a proposal from the members of the Santa Catarina Electoral Census Commission.

The Santa Catarina City Council, led by Jassira Monteiro, approved on 18 October the budget for the 2023 economic year, estimated at more than 797 million escudos.

The document to be submitted to the Municipal Assembly received favorable votes from councilors from the Movement for Democracy (MpD, the party that manages the chamber), from Santa Catarina Above All (SAT, opposition), and from councilors elected by the African Party of Independence of Cape Verde (PAICV, opposition).
