The Santa Catarina District Court (Santiago) decreed preventive detention for a 33-year-old individual suspected of committing a crime of sexual abuse of a minor, with penetration, in its consummated form.
In a note to which Inforpress had access today, the Judiciary Police (PJ), through the Assomada Criminal Investigation Unit (UICA), informed that it had arrested this individual outside the flagrante delicto, on the 17th of November, within the scope of the execution an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution Service.
As the PJ recalls, the crime had been happening since 2021 in the locality of Entre Picos de Reda when the victim was 14 years old.
In this sense, it informs that after a complaint made in July 2022, the PJ immediately launched measures for the criminal investigation of the case and, having gathered the evidence, promoted, with the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the District of Santa Catarina, the competent warrant of arrest against the individual.
