The president of the Local Council of the Red Cross, in Sal, Ivanilda Rodrigues, said Thursday that the new local office will boost the humanitarian institution’s action in order to meet the needs of the most vulnerable groups.
Ivanilda Rodrigues, made these considerations at the inauguration of the new Local Council of the Red Cross headquarters in Sal, as part of the activities within the National Volunteer Day of the Red Cross of Cabo Verde, marked on 20 October, with place this year in Sal.
“Although defined as a provisional solution this inauguration is a milestone for this Local Council, towards new achievements and projects, whose bet aims to bring to the island a new dynamic that will boost and leverage our action in order to respond to the needs of the most vulnerable groups”, she emphasized.
Aware of the challenges, namely the scarcity of resources that “makes the dynamics of many projects unfeasible”, the same source said that this “is not an obstacle” for partners to look for new alternatives to respond to local needs.
She took the opportunity to appeal to the partners, who, directly or indirectly, work with the Red Cross to continue their efforts, as the social demands “are many”.
