Sal Island: Águas de Ponta Preta trains farmers to adapt to climate change

The company Águas de Ponta Preta (APP), in Sal, promoted, this Tuesday, training to provide farmers with tools to adapt to climate change in order to prevent the effects of natural hazards in agriculture and forestry.

The training, also extended to people with projects linked to agriculture, aims to share knowledge with local farmers that will allow them to use organic waste as tools for adapting to climate change, preventing and mitigating the effects of natural hazards in agriculture and forestry.

Carried out in partnership with the Canary Islands Institute of Agricultural Research (ICIA) and the Canary Islands Technological Institute (ITC), this training is part of the Vercochar project, which aims to increase the capacity of agricultural and forestry systems to adapt to climate change through soil conservation and regeneration.

For this, according to experts in the matter, the use of local organic waste, generated in urban, agricultural and forestry environments, is proposed.
