This weekend, Sal hosts an innovative event in the area of Blue Economy, called the “Blue Hack” Hackathon, to empower the local communities around the blue economy sectors, linked to the environment.
Promoted by the UNDP Accelerator Lab, in partnership with KMINDZ – Digital Agency, the activity will take place from November4 to 6, from 9:00 am, at the of Académico of Sal Academy´s, in Espargos.
According to a press release, the purpose of the event is to promote an open innovation contest to empower local communities, through the so-called “Nature Based Solutions”, in the development of locally based sustainable solutions to address the opportunities and challenges in the related sectors.
“It is intended, on islands with strong potential in the selected domains, to create an environment conducive to design and creativity with local communities and to help small operators, entrepreneurs, start-ups, innovators, individuals and NGOs to develop sustainable local solutions around of the blue economy sectors”, clarifies the document.
