The international S.O.S Cuba Movement, in Cabo Verde, marched Monday in the city of Praia in solidarity with the Cuban people, also calling for international humanitarian intervention in that country, as spokesperson Maritza Rosabal told Inforpress.

“We are supporting this movement that is in Cuba in demonstrations against the dictatorship. We are supporting it and, at the same time, this caravan calls for humanitarian intervention in Cuba, with food, with essential medicines that there is no, because the Cuban people are currently in a great humanitarian crisis and need all the solidarity of the world,” she said.

According to this spokeswoman, 400 more people joined this movement in Cabo Verde, between Cabo Verdeans and Cubans.

“We have already been welcomed in the National Assembly, the Presidency of the Republic, the NGO Platform, the Government, the United Nations and religious representatives to present this petition calling for humanitarian intervention, international observers and the government to open a dialogue with civil society to solve the major problem Cuba has at the moment,” she added.
