Ouagadougou: On the occasion of the 2025 administrative year, the provincial director of preschool, primary and non-formal education of Ziro, Sidbewendin Compaore, sent a strong message of recognition and encouragement to all educational stakeholders in his province.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Provincial Director Sidbewendin Compaore, along with the head of the examinations and certification of competitive examinations service of the provincial directorate of secondary education, vocational and technical training of Ziro, Thiono Tegawende-Augustin, acknowledged the efforts of education stakeholders and outlined the main prospects for the coming school year. They expressed satisfaction with the work accomplished during the 2024-2025 school year, highlighting an 85% success rate in the CEP.
Thiono Tegawende-Augustin also emphasized the positive outcomes achieved in the BEPC, BAC, and CAP exams, attributing these results to the commitment of the educational staff. Among the key developments for the new school year, Mr. Compaore announced the reopening of four schools in the Gao CEB, previously closed due to insecurity in 2022-2023. This reopening was made possible through the efforts of security forces and local authorities.
Mr. Compaore further discussed the implementation of educational reforms, including the teaching of national languages in first grade, an introduction to English in second grade, and the instruction of civic values. He noted the authorities’ commitment to revitalizing Burkinabe schools.
In secondary education, Mr. Thiono introduced vocational training in two Sapouy establishments, transforming them into multi-purpose institutions offering both general education and technical training. He urged staff to ensure a peaceful and successful academic year.
Addressing parents, Mr. Thiono emphasized the importance of their involvement in supporting students’ education, while also calling on students to exhibit seriousness and discipline. Both leaders encouraged education stakeholders to adhere to instructions and fulfill their roles, aiming for a successful 2025-2026 school year.
