Producers and farmers from Santo Antão unhappy with IGAE’s actions

The producers and farmers from the island of Santo Antão are unhappy with the Inspectorate General for Economic Activities (IGAE) performance, which is accused of not fulfilling its “role”.

The dissatisfaction was made public Monday by António Carente, who spoke at the grogue producers meeting in the island of Santo Antão, which took place in the hall of the Grand Duchy Boarding School of Luxembourg, demanding to IGAE to comply with the “law provisions regarding the grogue production”.

The same source made an overview on what was before and after the implementation of the Grogue Law, considering that from 2004 to 2014, before the implementation of the grogue law, there was a “deterioration” on the grogue quality of the island.

“After the implementation of the Grogue Law, “there was improvement in the grogue production and its quality in the island, fewer deaths, the island’s economy rose and there was more employment in rural areas.”
