Prime Minister says Government remains “strongly committed” to combating crime

The Prime Minister said today that the Government remains “strongly committed” to combating crime, stressing confidence in the National Police (PN) and other institutions, guaranteeing them “all the conditions” that there is “increasingly good performance”.

Ulisses Correia e Silva, who was speaking to the press during a visit he made this morning to the National Police Command Centre, also said that it is necessary to know that this fight is a fight that brings together several valences and several institutions.

“It is necessary to have the National Police, the Judiciary Police play their role, particularly in the case of arrests in flagrante delicto or not in flagrante delicto, and those outside the flagrante delicto require strong collaboration, coordination and articulation with the Public Ministry”, he stated.

Ulisses Correia e Silva also said that special operations continue and are strengthened to have sustainability, persistence and consistency where there is a need to dismantle situations where those who commit crimes are known and where they are.
