Prices of imported products increased by 2.2% in January

The prices of imported products increased by 2.2 % in January this year, an increase of 0.2 percentage points (p.p.) compared to the previous month, announced today by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

According to the External Trade Price Index statistics, in this period the import price index stood at 126.9, having registered an increase of 2.2% in relation to the previous month.

In turn, the underlying and volatile indices for imports increased by 2.1% and 2.6%, respectively, compared to the previous month.

The same source explained that year-on-year, import price indices increased by 22.9%, compared to January 2022.
