President of the Republic welcomes “substantial progress” made in the National Health System

The President of the Republic (PR) welcomed what he considered to be a “huge effort” made by Cabo Verde over time to allow the development of the National Health System, whose gains today “are visible”.

José Maria Neves, who was speaking at the presentation of the results of the vaccination against COVID-19 in São Salvador do Mundo (Picos), as part of his three-day visit to the municipality in the countryside of Santiago, assured that of the visits made as Head of State he has noticed “substantial progress” in the National Health System.

“It would be difficult to achieve the gains in vaccination and in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic if the country had not made all these investments in the National Health System,” he noted, admitting, however, that there are still improvements to be made and challenges to be overcome.

“We have a functioning National Health System and we have health professionals committed to providing quality services in the National Health System,” said the President of the Republic.
