Sixteen people from the Leader group of Sabcé benefited from training in poultry farming organized by the Association of Women in the Mining Sector of Burkina (AFEMIB) from August 19 to 21, 2024 in the commune of Sabcé, in the end of which a visit took place to a poultry farm in the village of Safi. It was the Missom Ouédraogo poultry farm that welcomed the poultry learners on the morning of August 21, 2024 in Safi. According to Kadi Sawadogo, supervisor of AFEMIB activity in Sabcé, the objective of this immersion in Mr. Ouédraogo's farm in Safi is to supplement the knowledge that the members of the group acquired during the theoretical phase of the training. in Sabcé. In his opinion, AFEMIB's objective has been achieved. 'We held two days of theoretical training on August 19 and 20, which were very enriching for the beneficiaries. This August 21, third day, is devoted to visiting a farm in order to perfect the learners' knowledge. I am very satisfied with the progress of all the activities and I invite the beneficiaries to put the knowledge acquired into practice,' she indicated. For Simone N. Ouédraogo, beneficiary of the training, this training is an opportunity for her who wanted to get into the poultry business. 'I really learned a lot during this training session. We learned how to choose a site for setting up a henhouse, then how to choose breeders. We also learned about poultry feeding and their prophylaxis (sanitary care). Overall, I learned a lot, and it will help me in practice,' explained Simone Sawadogo. She concluded by thanking AFEMIB for its initiatives aimed at promoting the professional integration of young people. Salam Ouédraogo, head of the livestock technical unit in Sabcé, who provided the training, also expressed his satisfaction with the level of the learners. For him, all sixteen people trained are able to manage a henhouse and generate income.
