The distinguished Cape Verdeans who are part of the list of the 100 black personalities of the year in Lusophony for the magazine ‘Bantumen’ thank and dedicate recognition to all who believe in what they do and with dedication.

Inforpress managed to speak with the Cape Verdean international boxer residing in Portugal. She occupies the 11th place in the world ranking, in her medium weight category (- 66kg). Nancy Moreira, who said she was proud to know that all her efforts are to be recognized and that his dedication to the sport and to the country “is not being in vain”.

For her, continuing to influence young women, mothers and housewives “is undoubtedly a great victory”, considering that the prize is not hers alone, but all Cape Verdeans who have supported her in her competitions around the world.

“It only remains to hope that my own Country [authorities] appreciate my effort and dedication to the Country, making the payment of overdue medals since 2019, the World Championship in which I went alone and now recently the silver medal at the African Games in Mozambique. That does make me sad. When I have to raise the name of the country, many times with my monetary effort it ends up being frustrating”, she lamented.
