Portugal: CPLP prepares participation in the 67th UN Commission on the Status of Women

The Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) will prepare the 67th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, with a meeting of the focal points for Gender Equality, this Friday.

In a note from the Executive Secretariat of the CPLP, the organization explains that the Ministry of Social Action, Family and Women’s Promotion of Angola, as the current presidency of the CPLP, convened the working meeting, which will be held by videoconference.

“The meeting intends to discuss the next 67th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, scheduled to take place from March 6 to 17, 2023, in New York, with the participation of Ministers and those responsible for Gender Equality in the United States,” he clarified.

According to the same source, the focal points for Gender Equality of the CPLP should also analyze proposed activities for the execution of the Work Plan for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment in the CPLP for 2022-2024, approved by the VII Meeting of Ministers and Responsible for Gender Equality of the CPLP, on April 29, 2022, in Luanda.
