Porto Novo: Planalto Norte with potable water in November with the inauguration of the “Nô cre agua” project

The Planalto Norte of Porto Novo, in Santo Antão, an area whose population has faced a situation of water shortage, will start, this November, to have drinking water. Assured today, the Porto-Novo mayor.

According to the mayor of Porto Novo, Aníbal Fonseca, the project that consists of pumping and supplying water to the Planalto Norte, from a source near Martiene, is practically completed and will be inaugurated in November.

The delivery of the project should now take place at the end of September, but the rains that occurred in the Municipality of Porto Novo ended up conditioning the works and, consequently, postponing the completion of the works, which are practically completed.

The water supply project to the Planalto Norte of Porto Novo represents an investment of over 90 million escudos, which “will bring a great impact” to this locality, where 600 people live.
