The Fishermen and Fishmonger Association in Porto Novo, Santo Antão, praises the start of the works on the fish market in this municipality and believes “soon” fishing operators will be well served with this infrastructure.
“Soon, the class and the Porto Novo citizens will be well served with this market”, noted the association’s president, welcoming the effective start of the works in the market, which are ready within 68 working days, in an investment of 17 million escudos.
The market, according to this responsible, is the result of a work done “tirelessly” with the City Hall of Porto Novo and its partners to find the best solutions to dignify and praise fish, fish sellers and fish handlers.
“Soon, we will have a fish market that provides better working conditions, more hygiene, more safety to the product and consumer and an organized, regulated and formalized commercialization”, he said.
