Of the 8,525 litres, 6,000 were diesel and 2,525 petrol, which were handed over to the General Tax Administration (AGT) as a trustee. The micro-operation, which has been underway since the beginning of this year in Lunda-Norte, aims to combat fuel smuggling, illegal immigration, drug trafficking, human trafficking and the illegal exploitation of diamonds. ANGOP had access today, Monday, to a note from the Provincial Command of the National Police, which also points out that in the same operation 542 citizens of the DRC were arrested for attempting to enter national territory illegally, with the aim of settling in diamond mining areas. The note goes on to say that after the administrative procedures, the illegal immigrants, accompanied by 87 children, were repatriated to their country of origin. The province of Lunda-Norte shares a 770 square kilometre border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), 650 of which are land borders and 120 river borders. The operation also led to the seizure of four fir earms, 15,450 US dollars, 579,000 kwanzas and the shutting down of a cannabis farm. Source: Angola Press News Agency
