Parliament: Paulo Veiga calls for reflection on how to act in the parliamentary house

The parliamentary leader of the Movement for Democracy (MpD-ruling party) called on Thursday to Members in Parliament to reflect on how to act in the parliamentary house, in the exercise of the mandate, for the good of Cabo Verde.

In a political statement, Paulo Veiga referred to the current context of crisis caused by the pandemic and war in Ukraine, stating that the Government worked tirelessly and managed to ensure that Cabo Verdeans did not starve or run out of vaccines and emergency care.

“It is, yes, regrettable that some Cabo Verdeans took advantage of this moment of difficulties to inflame the passions, to denigrate our country, giving it an image of chaos and desolation especially near the emigrated community. Today, thanks to the Government’s success in calming the pandemic, and with the beginning of the resumption of tourism, let us all pray to God for a good agricultural year, the signs are very encouraging”, he said.

The parliamentary leader of the party that supports the Government said the plan to resume the executive has, among other objectives, reduce poverty and accelerate the promotion of decent work and entrepreneurship.
