Ouagadougou: The people of the commune of Ouessa proceeded to clean the gutters following the invitation of the special delegation, on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
According to Burkina Information Agency, these community service projects are part of the presidential initiative Faso Mebo, as noted by the prefect and president of the special delegation (PDS) of Ouessa, Ismael Sanogo. “This cleanup will contribute to the beautification of the city,” remarked the PDS. For the third consecutive time, the inhabitants of Ouessa demonstrated their commitment by mobilizing to clean the gutters. Equipped with picks, shovels, and daba, the participants, led by the PDS, diligently scraped the inside of the ditches, which were previously blocked by plastic bags and other waste.
After the cleaning efforts, the removed garbage and sand were collected and transported by tricycles to a designated dumping site. From 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., community members worked to eliminate mosquito nests and unpleasant odors from the area. The three-hour activity fostered a strong sense of camaraderie among participants. Consequently, the Prefect, PDS of Ouessa, expressed appreciation for the patriotic commitment shown by all those involved. “I invite everyone to raise awareness and mobilize those who were absent so that we come out in greater numbers to continue the work on Saturday, September 20,” concluded Mr. Sanogo.
