National Stadium opens the doors for training teams in South Santiago

The National Stadium is receiving South Santiago clubs for training sessions to preparing for the start of the 2021/22 football season, as an alternative to the Várzea Stadium which is at the end of the placement of pitch.

Located in Achada de São Filipe, the largest sports infrastructure in the country, according to the Sport and Youth Institute, opened its doors since Monday, the 8th, for training in two periods, from 6:00 to 8:00AM and from 4:00 to 6:00PM, and include the teams of Sporting, Académica, Travadores and Desportivo da Praia.

“The training schedule is being carried out in close institutional alignment between the South Santiago Football Association and the Sport and Youth Institute, with the aim of supporting the resumption of sports activity in the South Santiago region,” writes the IDJ.

The IDJ guarantees that the “National Stadium, as always, is available to host regional competitions and training, among other sports activities, regional associations, sports federations and to support the private institutions of sport, for the post-COVID-19 resumption”. The opening tournament of the regional championship of the first division is scheduled for November 26.
