National Library receives 476 copies of scientific works from the Higher Education Regulatory Agency – ARES

The National Library of Cape Verde received this Wednesday 476 copies of scientific works, from 2018 to 2021, from the Higher Education Regulatory Agency (ARES), with the aim of safeguarding and disseminating scientific knowledge on different areas of knowledge.

This donation is part of the fulfillment of the duty of the legal deposit, according to the President of the National Library, Matilde Santos, who explained that the works are carried out abroad, mostly by Cape Verdeans, and that later in Cape Verde ARES receive them, within the scope of the request for the equivalence request.

“Usually these works are delivered at the end of each year, but there was a slight delay that has to do not only with the issue of the pandemic, but also with other issues. Now we are receiving this general reckoning that comes from 2018 to 2021, a total of 476 master’s and doctoral theses from the most diverse areas of knowledge”, she explained.

The documents received cover several areas such as Medicine, Biology and other technologies, that is, themes that the president of the National Library considers to be of “extreme relevance”.
