Namentenga: The Regional Directorate of Economy and Planning (DREP) of the Koulse region initiated a meeting with the heads of associations, projects, and development NGOs to develop a comprehensive map with data from their fields and stakeholders in the Namentenga province.
According to Burkina Information Agency, High Commissioner Adama Conseiga emphasized the importance of this scoping meeting, stating that any entity not included in the database by September 9, 2025, would be unrecognized by the State. The meeting aims to accurately catalog the number of associations and NGO projects operating in Namentenga, their locations, areas of intervention, and completed or ongoing actions.
The DREP team, led by Regis Ilboudo, outlined the framework to be completed. Ilboudo highlighted that cooperative societies and associations from the first generation (1992 to 2015) and the second generation (2015 to 2025) are included in this mapping effort, whether or not they are currently active or have renewed their structures.
For the communes of Bouroum, Nagbingou, Tougouri, and Yalgo, which are difficult to access, the high commissioner provided the outline to the presidents of the special delegations of these communes. Adama Conseiga expressed appreciation for the quality of the discussions and noted that the DREP team will be stationed at the High Commission’s premises from September 1 to 9, 2025, working daily, including weekends, to complete the task.
