Mouhoun: The administrative return to school took place this Monday, September 15, 2025, at the Douroula departmental high school, as well as at public primary schools A and B, with the prospect of the gradual reopening of other establishments in the commune. The principal, Togo Traore, invited his colleagues to redouble their commitment to the well-being of the students.
According to Burkina Information Agency, a meeting with teaching and administrative staff was held at the departmental high school, led by Principal Togo Traore. He praised the resilience and dedication of the staff despite facing multiple challenges. In his address, Traore congratulated the staff for their efforts, likening them to the VDPs of the education sector, and urged them to increase their commitment to the students’ well-being.
Traore also expressed his willingness to remain supportive and attentive to his colleagues as they face future challenges. The start of the school year was further highlighted by the presence of six new baccalaureate holders from the municipality, hailing from the A4 final year class, which had seven candidates. The successful students thanked their teachers for the quality supervision they received, especially during patriotic immersion.
The faculty celebrated the students’ success and offered advice for their continued education. The Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB), Dioma Hilaire, marked the return to school with a visit to the public primary school in Koussiri. This village, recently resettled, is preparing for the reopening of its school, which had been closed since 2022 due to security concerns.
“We came to see the condition of the classrooms firsthand. We found that they are usable, with a few alterations,” said the CCEB, who was visibly satisfied, alongside two inspectors and the school’s principal, Gninizo Tamini. Last year, the municipality had only three functional establishments: schools A and B in Douroula and school A in Kirikongo. This year, the school map is expanding with the return of Douroula School B to its original site and the reopening of three other structures: Kirikongo School B, the Douroula Franco-Arab School, and the Koussiri School.
This development reflects, according to educational stakeholders, the ongoing efforts of the State to ensure stability and a gradual return to normal school life in the commune of Douroula, much to the satisfaction of the population.
