Minister of Secondary Education Prof. Pauline Nalova Lyonga has clarified that no Baccalaureate and GCE examination papers were leaked before the official start of exams, countering social media rumors. During a surprise inspection visit to exam centers in Douala, Lyonga assured that everything was proceeding smoothly and emphasized the impossibility of exam papers being circulated beforehand. 'Social media doesn't run the exams, we run the exams. We've reduced the circulation of exam papers. People take the papers just minutes before the exams, leaving no chance for leaks. Today it's 30 minutes; next year, it will be on the spot,' Lyonga stated. At another centre, the GBHS Deido campus, GCE Board liaison officer Nkwati Emmanuel reinforced the Minister's assertion, highlighting the robust security measures. 'I can say 100% that the news of exam leaks is fake. Charlatans circulate fake questions to confuse students. Only dull students consult them,' said Emmanuel. He explained that GCE papers are now kept at catchment centers, and released to examination officials only 30 minutes before exams begin, eliminating the chance of leaks. Minister Lyonga urged candidates to focus on their studies and ignore distractions from those offering fake papers, reiterating that official questions are securely handled.
