The Minister of Culture and Creative Industries on Monday defended the need for a willingness from the Government and cooperation between ministries to increase the amount made available to Culture in the next State Budget (OE).
Abraão Vicente made these statements to the press, on the sidelines of the Council of the Ministry of Culture held on Monday under the theme “Culture for the future”, which aimed to present the new start for the Culture and Creative Industries sector by all the institutions and coordination of the Ministry he heads.
The meeting, according to the Minister, will serve for each sector not only to present its strategic plan, consolidate strategies, seek internal financing through the State Budget, but also create an obvious strategy for raising international resources for the financing of Culture and Creative Industries.
He said that in the last six years of governance there have been many changes in the Ministry of Culture in terms of leaders, and the assessment for that same period is “quite positive with concrete results”.
