Loroum: Two women from the Loroum province, Marie Pierre Yampa and Mamouna Kagone, were selected on Sunday, September 14, 2025, following the regional Yaadga culture competitions, to take part in the final stages of the Burkinabe cultural biennial.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Marie Pierre Yampa triumphed in the drinks category with her ‘Guekou Taga’, a beverage crafted from millet, monkey bread, and honey. Meanwhile, Mamouna Kagone earned her place by winning in the dessert category with her ‘Harra porridge’, also made from millet and monkey bread.
In total, three dishes were chosen, each representing different categories in culinary art, to compete in the final stages of the event in Bobo-Dioulasso. Alongside these culinary talents, a selection of nine artistic troupes and ensembles, as well as 37 traditional wrestling athletes, have been chosen to participate in the SNC 2026.
