Dasebre Bonja Atamafowiese II, Paramount chief of Chonke Traditional Area, has advised political actors especially parliamentary candidates in the Krachi East Municipality to avoid land terrorists or dabbling in the act of grabbing the resource. He said the area had lived peacefully without the incidents and urged political actors to help guard and protect the peace against land litigation. Dasebre Atamafowiese stressed that their lands had been their cherished property, hence the need to protect them with peace and unity. The Paramount chief made these remarks when the Oti Regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and his entourage called on him in Dambai Wankayaw. Dasebre Atamafowiese appealed to political leaders within the Oti Region to eschew negative acts with the tendency to disrupt the peace and development of the country and stressed the need for politicians to champion developmental issues for all citizens. Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, the Oti Regional chairman of the NDC, thanked the overlord and said the party would not engage in any land litigation. 'I am John the Baptist preparing for a greater person coming to the Oti Region, Mr Mahama will tour the area in the coming days to interact with our revered chiefs, traditional leaders, floating voters, and party members over his vision and mission,' he told the Paramount chief.
