Kourittenga: The Association for the Development of the Commune of Baskoure (ADCB) held the final of its 5th edition of the Unity and Fraternity Cup on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Baskoure “A” public primary school grounds, under the theme: “Social Cohesion and Living Together”. The Tantaoko team emerged victorious by 4 goals to 3 against the Gounghin team.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the final match was contested by Tantaoko and Gounghin. Both teams kept the score level through two periods of twenty minutes, ending regulation time in a stalemate. Tantaoko claimed victory after a tense penalty shootout, winning by 4 goals to 3, thereby securing the prestigious trophy of unity and fraternity.
The victorious Tantaoko team was awarded an envelope containing 100,000 FCFA, along with a set of jerseys, a ball, medals, and the trophy. The runner-up, Gounghin, received a prize of 75,000 CFA francs, a set of jerseys, and a ball. Certificates of recognition were also given to individuals who contributed to the town’s development and the success of the tournament.
Landry Kouraogo, representing the winning team, shared his joy after the victory and dedicated the trophy to Tantaoko village. He emphasized the hard work put into training and expressed pride in their accomplishment. Ousmane Ilboudo, President of the special delegation of the commune of Baskoure, praised the initiative for fostering unity and congratulated the organizers for their dedication to youth and social cohesion.
Dieudonne Belemboago, president of the Association for the Development of the Commune of Baskoure, expressed gratitude to all supporters and reaffirmed that the cup continues to serve as a platform for unity and meeting among the community members. The organizers extended an invitation to the public and sports teams for the 6th edition, set for 2026, aiming to further promote unity, fraternity, and social cohesion through sport.
