JPAI’s new president promises to demystify politics to attract young people to the organization

The new Youth president of the African Independence Party of Cabo Verde (JPAI) promised Friday, at his inauguration, to work to demystify politics to get closer to youth and bring young people into the party.

According to the young politician, the idea is to provide training “in a simplified and reasonable way and in simple language” so that youth can understand what politics is.

This, he explained, so that they do not see politics as a “seven-headed monster” or a place occupied by “people which young people don’t like or that is something inaccessible.”

The JPAI’s president in São Vicente also said that he wants to encourage the active participation of young people in politics so that they can mediate and influence decisions. This is because, he explained, the decisions taken today will impact ten years from now and those who did not participate will no longer be young, and will continue to complain, because there are no ways to escape the consequences of political decisions made at any time in history.
