The President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, said his presence in FIC-21 is to “support and stimulate” initiatives of this nature and “we need, as bread for the mouth, the recovery of the economy”.
Asked what entrepreneurs have been told, the Head of State said that entrepreneurs are “happy with this recovery”, although there are still some uncertainties.
“We all have to work together to remove the obstacles and accelerate the step towards the recovery of the economy,” said Neves, for whom the “devastation was enormous” because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Head of State made these remarks in statements to the press on the sidelines of his visit to the Cabo Verde International Fair, which takes place from November 17 to 19 in Praia. He acknowledged that the country will have “difficult times”, especially in 2022, but it must “accelerate the step towards the transition and the effective recovery of the economy”, he stated.
