Jair Fernandes assumes duties as the new sole administrator of Inforpress starting today

Historian Jair Fernandes assumed today the role of sole administrator of Inforpress, replacing José Furtado that was exonerated Thursday by the Government, announced today the deputy secretary of state for the Prime Minister, Lourenço Lopes.

In a press conference, Lourenço Lopes shared with the media, the Government’s position in relation to the solutions for the management of Inforpress and RTC and the executive’s vision towards public bodies. Moreover, was convinced that Jair Fernandes, former president of the IPC, will put “all his accumulated experience at the service of Inforpress”.

The official assured that the new administrator of the News Agency will have “all the institutional support of the Government. All to reinforce the status of Inforpress, as a primary source of news and an unavoidable reference of the press in Cape Verde, affirming it as a news agency of reference in the space of the Portuguese language community and in the African space”.

He said that the Government acted in such a way that there is no void in the administration of Inforpress and that he is confident that the “new administrator will continue the good work that is being done, giving an even greater dynamic to Inforpress”.
