Ouagadougou: The Ioba Provincial Directorate of Youth and Employment has recorded a remarkable achievement with a 100% success rate in the 2025 driving license program, with all ten candidates successfully obtaining their licenses. The official graduation ceremony for these graduates was held at the Dano High Commission on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner of Ioba, Innocents Ouattara, presided over the ceremony. Also in attendance were the Secretary General of the province, Andre Lankoande, and the Provincial Director of Youth and Employment (DPJE) of Ioba, Hadou Sanou. “The province of Ioba has benefited from 10 places out of the 50 allocated to the Djoro region this year 2025 for the driving license operation launched by the Ministry in charge of youth,” explained the DPJE.
Classes for the program commenced in June, and by early September, all 10 Ioba candidates had passed their exams successfully. “Ioba has a 100% success rate, thanks to the determination of young people, the experience of driving school instructors, and the support of provincial authorities,” Mr. Sanou emphasized. He expressed gratitude to the province’s chief executive and its secretary general for their support.
The DPJE has requested an increase in the number of young people to be recruited for future programs. A beneficiary of the program, Bourobassorou Some, remarked on the challenging nature of the learning process but was pleased with the outcome. “I thank the authorities for the opportunity given to us,” he added. Daouda Bouda, representing the driving school instructors in Dano, commended the authorities for ensuring the success of the training and encouraged the graduates to exhibit exemplary driving skills using the knowledge they have acquired.
According to High Commissioner Innocents Ouattara, the top authorities in Burkina Faso are advocating for the self-employment of young people through the “driving license” initiative. This initiative is a national policy aimed at providing employment opportunities for young people. “This initiative also helps reduce the number of traffic accidents,” Ouattara stated.
“We hope that this certificate will help you find employment,” he added, congratulating all the winners for their commendable efforts. Innocents Ouattara expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed to this achievement. The ceremony also saw the participation of provincial directors of Ioba in charge of sports, Herve Kam, and the director in charge of culture, Casimir Somda.
