Active involvement and participation of religious and traditional leaders in governance and national decision-making process critical in the quest for solutions to challenges facing the nation. Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice-Presidential Candidate of the NPP in the 2024 general elections, who stated this, said it was time to give traditional rulers and religious leaders the chance to actively participate in democratic governance and political discourse of the country. Addressing party supporters as part of his campaign tour of the Atwima-Nwabiagya south constituency, he said the next NPP government would give chiefs and religious leaders the opportunity to make inputs in the national decision-making process. He pledged to continue to seek guidance and counsel from religious leaders and chiefs to direct his path in the discharge of his duties. Dr Prempeh urged the people to maintain the NPP government for it to continue with the implementation of the various social intervention programmes, which were h elping to improve the lives and living conditions of the people. Madam Shirley Kyei, NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Atwima-Nwabiagya South, said the constituency was the home of former President J.A Kufuour, and there was the need for the people to honour him, by maintaining the NPP in power to help continue the works and national transformation agenda of the party. She said Dr Bawumia was needed at this time of the country's political and economic situation to initiate and implement policies that would help transform the nation. Mr Henry Nana Boakye, NPP National Organizer, pointed out that, Dr Bawumia and NAPO were poised to maintain and sustain all the social intervention programmes of the government and urged the people in the area not to buy into the propaganda of the NDC, since they were intended to get the country backwards.
