INSP says that providing the population with more health literacy is the way to greater health security

The Executive Administrator of the INSP, Júlio Rodrigues, stated this Wednesday the nCape Verde´s needs to provide the population with more health literacy in order to nachieve better health security.

 

Júlio Rodrigues, who was speaking to Inforpress on the sidelines of the “food and nutrition security” workshop, promoted by the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) within the scope of the Health Security Year 2022 initiative, also pointed out as challenges a market for safe food and adequate nutrition.

 

“In order for us to advance in this sector, we have to provide the Cape Verdean population with more health literacy so they can identify the risk and know how to recognize what will best serve their health”, he contemplated.

 

Although with regard to food and nutritional security, he considered that the country is “on a good path”, he admitted that there is still a long way to go and assured that the will to improve surveillance and health control of the food that is consumed “does not lackandquot;.
