Immersed Students Return Home to Nahouri, Families Celebrate Positive Changes

Nahouri: The immersed children from the Nahouri province arrived late this Wednesday, September 10, 2025, in Po. Each immersed child joined their family. Four days after their arrival with their respective families, parents and the community welcomed the initiative.

According to Burkina Information Agency, after a month of compulsory patriotic immersion in Manga, the capital of the Nazinon region, the Nahouri high school graduates returned to their families on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Their return has generated positive reactions from their parents and the entire community.

The majority of families interviewed expressed pride in seeing their children participate in a structured national program aimed at strengthening civic spirit, discipline, and commitment to the nation. “This is a salutary initiative that responds to the aspirations of a nation that wants to be independent, dignified, honest, and responsible. If it didn’t exist, it should have been created. We invite the immersed to make laziness their greatest enemy,” said Albert Azora Karfo from Zecco and Sia Christophe from Ziou, both fathers of students who underwent the immersion program.

Jeanne Naguiabou from sector 2 of Po shared her satisfaction, noting significant positive changes in her child’s behavior. “I was worried at first, but since she’s been back, I’ve felt a big change in her way of doing things. At 4 a.m., she goes to do sports and comes back to do the housework. When I call her name, she says, ‘Yes, boss.'”

Ms. Naguiabou praised the vision from the highest authorities of the country and the positive impact of the program. The parents and community members have expressed a desire for public restitution sessions at the provincial level, allowing the youth to share their experiences and insights with their peers.

Furthermore, the community is advocating for a local system to monitor and supervise high school graduates post-immersion, ensuring the skills and values acquired are capitalized upon. Encouragement is being given to young people to engage in community initiatives, building on the values they gained during their immersion experience.
