Government will in 2023 raise to 5.000 the number of beneficiaries of the Productive Inclusion Program

The Government will in 2023 raise to 5.000 the number of beneficiaries of the Productive Inclusion Program, funded by the World Bank, and which in the first phase benefited 2.000 families from nine municipalities.

The announcement was made Monday by the Minister of Family, Inclusion and Social Development, Fernando Elísio Freire, in conversation with journalists, following a meeting with the beneficiaries of the program in the municipality of Praia, with the presence of representatives of the World Bank, for assessment and monitoring of actions already developed.

“As you know, productive inclusion currently includes 2.000 families in nine municipalities. The Government’s goal is to reach 5.000 families in the 22 municipalities of Cabo Verde,” he said, adding that the pilot program is being well evaluated by the funding entity.

“The project is extremely well evaluated by the World Bank. That is why in 2023 we will have good news in the State Budget, precisely so that we can continue with the policy for eliminating extreme poverty and reducing absolute poverty”, he stated.
