Government outlines strategies to develop innovation ecosystem

The Government has outlined strategies for the development of the Cabo Verdean innovation ecosystem to improve the digital competitiveness of start-ups and gain access to the global market, announced Wednesday the president of the Institute for Business Support and Promotion (Pro-Empresa).

 

Pedro Barros was speaking to journalists on Wednesday morning on the sidelines of the 4th International Seminar on Smart and Technological Territories, as part of the SMART-ECO project, which aims to improve the competitiveness of the territories of Macaronesia (Canarias, Azores, Madeira) and the peripheral regions (Cabo Verde, Senegal and Mauritania).

 

He explained that the project is based on three axes of implementation: strategy and cooperation, digital transformation of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), digital talent and start-ups, aims to present entrepreneurs with opportunities for growth of the Cabo Verdean digital ecosystem.

 

“Being Cabo Verde a small country with a tiny market, we intend to take advantage of digital to gain access to the global market,” said the president of Pro-Empresa who said the idea is to have a digital ecosystem and a strategy for the development of digital and promotion of technology-based entrepreneurship.
