According to the Minister, the delay, which is still a permanent problem in the sector, needs to be fought internally, namely procedural pending issues, to see progress in the judicial system.

It is in these terms that the Minister of Justice began her intervention at the opening session of the Workshop on the Strategic Plan for Sustainable Development 2022-2026 (PEDS II) dedicated to the Ministry of Justice.

According to the Minister, the delay, which is still a permanent problem in the sector, needs to be fought internally, namely procedural pending issues, to see progress in the judicial system.

Thus, he stressed not only the importance of legal literacy possible through the development of legal information taken to citizens, but also the reduction of criminal recidivism working on the part of social reintegration, to reduce entries in the Courts.

“For faster and fairer justice, we need partners such as NGOs, churches, universities, city councils to create a prevention mechanism, because the responsibility for social reintegration is not only the Ministry of Justice, but also society. civil society and communities” assured Joana Rosa.

In parallel with the Strategic Plan for Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Justice is working on a Strategic Plan for Reducing Delays with the objective of reducing in 3 years time, closing the pending issues of 10%.
