The prize awarded by Insurance company Garantia to the proposal by Association Fogo Solidário, Afosol, in the amount of around 800 thousand escudos, will be applied to the setting up of a school for children with special needs.
The chairman of Afosol’s board of directors, Eugénio Veiga, told Inforpress that the amount made available aims to improve the training environment for the most disadvantaged categories of society, namely children and adolescents with special educational needs.
Thus, the value made available will be applied in the acquisition of materials and equipment, such as desktop and laptop computers, printer, photocopier, machine and Braille printer, adapted chairs, illustrated manuals and didactic games.
In addition to the acquisition of materials, the project also aims to carry out a pilot experiment in a school in the interior of the municipality and the displacement of students with special needs from the interior, at least three times, for exchange with the core of the city of São Filipe.
